I'm a part-time AL7 player / referee.
A couple of questions:
(1) I have a couple of friends who are 15 or 16 and are MWFRA refs - are they permitted referee or run the line for senior (ie, AL or O35) games?
(2) Occasionally I get to referee games that are taken a bit more seriously than most lower division AL and O35 games - O35/1 Strikers vs Beacon Hill stands out from last year! In this case linesmen would be helpful - am I allowed to organise for a couple of refs to turns up to run the line and get paid for it?
thanks,
phil

In cases where 15 or 16 years of age juniors are available on a Saturday afternoon it is advisable to make that known in their accounts within the MWFRA availability area. We encourage juniors especially the older ones such as 15/16s to gain experience on Senior games and we will definately use them on MPL MAA1 and 21/18s and occasional O35 div 1.
All other divisions are unfortunately not covered since they are team player/referee covered and the MWFA have not allocated any funds for Assistants are these divisions.
By all means they can help out if they wish to be involved with their family members but they will not be able to claim for those games....
All Assistant Referees are Appointed by the MWFRA and will accordingly be paid. All others are not...... |
